Jackpot Team Penning and Practice Rounds
For information on other locations that host Team Penning, please call Turkey Creek at (813) 737-1312. About Team PenningThere are two practice rounds each competition evening, with a full 90 second practice run.
At least one team member stays back to keep the other calves from crossing the line. If five (5) calves, that are not "their" number, go over the line the team is disqualified. Once a calf with the correct number is sorted out, it is driven down to the end of the arena and herded into a pen. The team with the shortest time for getting all three of their calves into the pen is the winner. One-on-one penning consists of one rider who must cut out a calf with their number and take it to the pen on the other side of the arena. |

Team
Penning consists of a team of three riders on horses trying to get three
calves into a pen. Timing starts when the first member of the team crosses
the line and the number of "their" calves is called. One or
two team members go into the herd of 30 calves (each calf is wearing a
number from 0 - 9) and sorts out the specific calf number called.
